Potty training and my coprophagic dogs
By ella | July 27, 2006
On Saturday I potty-trained Second Son. It was done in a day. This week he has also learned to be dry at night.
God I am GOOD.
Okay, so he’s three and two months and also when I attempted to train him two months ago it all went horribly wrong, but let me bask in this perfect parenting moment.
And okay, also there might have been a day where there was a long trail of pooey deposits, like a really special treasure trail, from where Second Son had been playing in one room to the potty in another room. All I can say is thank God for wood floors. And the fact that I noticed it before the dogs did.

Well done! As someone who’s been through similar events in my life (although without the copraphagic dogs) I know what a big achievement this is!
Congrats! Wish I could have done it that quickly!
Congratulations! I’m so very happy that it went easily for you. I keep telling myself that if I just wait that it will be easy when my little guy is ready. You’re living proof!
your dogs are scare of poo? That’s a little weird.
Not exactly Violet, they like it a little too much…
Well done!! Proof again that waiting is worth it!
