    Bump Talk: seven weeks pregnant

    By ella | May 12, 2005

I may not be doing a lot of blogging over the next few days and weeks given that I am spending most of my time with my head over the loo at the moment.

I am very sick. And if I’m not being sick I live constantly with the feeling that I might be sick any minute. I keep an airplane travel sick bag in my pocket at all times because I can’t tell where or when it will strike. The other day it was in the hallway while picking up my son from nursery. I got several pitying looks from other mothers and those that didn’t already know I was pregnant did then.

It’s amazing how something that is only, what, 7mm long can cause such havoc with my day to day arrangements. I am making hasty arrangements to try and find someone who can help me a couple of hours a day because I am really struggling to look after the boys. In the meantime I am eating toast with marmalade every few minutes and the odd meal whenever I can face it.

Aside from the sickness my tongue is covered in ulcers which is just adding to the pleasure I get from eating at the moment.

So not much joy to report at the moment. I am hanging on to the hope that this phase will only last for another five to six weeks as it did in my previous pregnancies.

It also turns out I have oral thrush and a urinary tract infection and if I don’t start keeping some fluids down on a regular basis I may have to visit the hospital for rehydration. Hope they have nurses willing to look after two toddlers there (as if).
