Another life
By ella | December 20, 2004
In my former life (before children) I used to be involved in music. This always goes down well at mummy coffee mornings, being one of those creative careers with the potential to know at least some famous people.
I always find it quite surprising that Mummies existed as other people before they became Mummies. I know my previous life seems like it belongs to some other person. I also know that one day (please, God, soon) that I will become an interesting person again with a view beyond nappies. Only this time, I’m sure the transformation will be more of a metamorphosis rather than the sudden killing off of my old self and the creation, in its place, of a mother which is what happened in the flicker of an eye in that instant when my first baby was placed in my arms in the delivery room.
